Hi, my name is Jacob Heap
I’m a 15-year-old racing driver rising through the ranks, with the aim of racing in BTCC (British Tour Car Championship). I started karting when I was 8 years old, and by the time I was 13 I had won a lot of trophies to my name.
I competed for my first full season in the Junior Saloon Car Championship this year. There was a lot of positives to take from the year, but it was also extremely tricky dropping points in 6 races but still managing to finish 15th in the championship out of 35 drivers.
I proved my talent at Silverstone where we had just rebuilt the car after a major crash at Snetterton through no fault of my own wiped my car out. Only once we got to Silverstone and tracked the car did we realise we had a bent axel. As my first time driving at Silverstone and especially in the wet i only manged to qualify 18th. I was disappointed with this and studied my data until the race. I started 18th and made up a few places but we then got a safety car and it started raining. After having some great battles on track and keeping up pace with the leaders I managed to come from 18th to 7th with my best finish of the year.
I learnt a lot in my first full season learning how much to push the car. I will do lots of testing this winter with instructors to make sure I’m on the pace as soon as the season starts again. I’m going for a top 3 finish in the championship next year but want to push for the title.
I am proud to say that I am an ambassador for HRX.

Carbon Neutral Racing
We are very concerned about the environment and motor racing isn’t known for being Eco friendly. Nevertheless, I’ve calculated my fuel consumption for the 2021 season and managed to offset my carbon footprint by planting trees with the Carbon Reduction Project. I plan to do as much as I can to push this great cause in the motor racing community.
